「屋久の宿たぐち」は、大自然が創り出した荘厳なる芸術作品「生命の島・屋久島」にある夫婦で営むちいさなちいさな宿です。
豪華ではありませんが、清潔で居心地の良い宿泊の提供を目指しております。
何もないのに何かがあるこの島を好きになるひとは、
「こころの奥深くが開かれた綺麗なひと」だと思っています。
私たちが大好きな神秘なるこの島で、五感を研ぎ澄まして「あなただけの屋久島」を見つけるお手伝いができれば幸いです。
Greetings
Yaku no Yado "Taguchi" is a small inn managed by us, a husband and wife duo, in a majestic art work "Life Island / Yakushima" created by Mother Nature herself. Although it is not luxurious, we aim to provide clean and comfortable accommodation. This island might seem to offer nothing, but if you take a deeper look you would find the hidden beauty of this wonderful place. We believe that the people who are able to see the beauty of this island are beautiful people themselves. It would be greatly appreciated if we could help sharpen your senses and find your definition of beauty on this mysterious island we love.

空・山・森・滝・川・海・生物・島に暮らすの人々との新たな繋がりを発見し感動しながら、

With the concept of ‘always play, harmonise and enjoy’, we will nurture the inn with you so that it will be a place where you can come back again and again to say ‘I'm back’, while discovering and being moved by the sky, mountains, forests, waterfalls, rivers, sea, life and new connections with the people living on the island, from the perspective and sensibility of an immigrant. We will continue to nurture this inn together with you, so that it becomes a place where you feel at home and can come back again and again to say ‘I'm back’.

屋久島
今でも耳にする「負けないで」（ZARD）の歌が巷にあふれ出していた、1993年（平成5年）、日本で初めて白神山地とともに世界自然遺産に登録された屋久島。
「縄文杉」が象徴のように喧伝されましたが、科学的な検証により、樹齢がおよそ2170、環境省が発表した7200からはかけ離れた年齢でした（2022年現在）。
よく考えてください。屋久島は「縄文杉」が無くとも世界自然遺産に認定されたはずです。屋久島は決して「杉」の島などではありません。
一度足を踏み入れたら、その荘厳で奥深い森に圧倒され、清らかで雄大な川と滝に魅了され、海の永遠の青さに心を奪われるはずです。
はじめて屋久島を訪れたかたは、自然のスケールの大きさに圧倒されます。それは写真や言葉ではとても伝えることが出来ません。
屋久島の旅の全ては、旅をする貴方に委ねられています。
屋久島の森を、「自宅の裏山と変わりない」と語ったゲストもいらっしゃいました。とても素敵な場所にお住まいなのだと驚愕致しました。

屋久島の観光は、多くのスポットを「見てまわる」のではなく、「観じる場所を探す」旅でもあります。
屋久島は、一度の滞在では、全てを見てまわることすら許してもらえない島です。
旅の醍醐味は、森の中、川の畔、海辺や町並みの中に自分の居場所を見つけ出して、どれだけの時間をそこに滞留することが出来るかにかかっています。

Yakushima
Yakushima was the first island in Japan to be inscribed as a World Natural Heritage site in 1993, together with Shirakami Sanchi.
The Jomon Cedars were touted as a symbol, but scientific verification showed that the trees were approximately 2170 years old, a far cry from the 7200 announced by the Ministry of the Environment (as of 2022). (as of 2022)
Think about it. Yakushima would have been recognised as a World Natural Heritage site even without the ‘Jomon Cedars’. Yakushima is not an island of ‘cedars’.
Once you set foot on the island, you will be overwhelmed by its majestic and deep forests, fascinated by its clear and majestic rivers and waterfalls, and captivated by the eternal blue of the sea.
If you visit Yakushima for the first time, you will be overwhelmed by the sheer scale of nature. It is impossible to convey this in pictures or words.
The whole journey of Yakushima is left to you, the traveller.
Sightseeing in Yakushima is not a journey of ‘looking around’ many spots, but a journey of ‘looking for a place to see’.
Yakushima is an island that does not even allow you to see everything in one stay.
The real pleasure of travelling depends on how much time you can spend there, finding your own place in the forest, by the river, by the sea and in the townscape.

島・海・酒好き。
屋久島で透き通る海、旨い焼酎「三岳」と島に暮らす方々との
運命的な出会いに使命を感じ、民宿のおやじになるために
起業したIT関連企業の経営から退き、
ホテルマンの修行を開始。
2016年秋に屋久島町民となり一湊集落で暮らし始め、
2018年夏に念願の民宿を宮之浦集落でオープンし、
めでたく宿のおやじとなる。

Loves the island, the sea and sake.
Fateful encounter in Yakushima with the crystal-clear sea, delicious shochu ‘Mitake’ and the people living on the island made him feel a mission, so he left the management of the IT-related company he started to become a minshuku father and started training as a hotelier.
In autumn 2016, he became a resident of Yakushima town and started living in Ichiminato village, and in summer 2018, he opened his dream guest house in Miyanoura village, and became the inn's father.

第二の人生をこの島でスタート。
宿のおやじである主人と同様に、お酒が大好き。
東京での美味しい料理と料理人との出会いで培った舌を信じ、
地元の食材を生かして真心込めた料理で
おもてなしをさせていただきます。

Culinary director Born in Tokyo
Raised in downtown Tokyo, she is a chaki-chakki Edo child.
Fascinated by the nature and people of Yakushima, she started her second life on the island.
Loves drinking as much as her host, the inn's landlord.
He trusts in his palate, which he has cultivated through delicious food and encounters with chefs in Tokyo, and will serve you with dishes made with sincerity, making the most of local ingredients.
